Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Welder to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components with precision, ensuring all projects meet safety standards and quality expectations. Your expertise will contribute directly to the creation of durable, high-quality structures that meet customer specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operates mechanized, or semi-automatic equipment to weld structural beams, using processes such as gas metal arc, and submerged arc welding. Operates equipment safely and uses safe work habits while performing his/her job function. Clamps, holds, tack-welds, and grinds component parts to obtain required joint configurations and positions for welding. Monitors the fitting and welding processes to avoid warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials. The welder examines work pieces for defects and measures work pieces with squares, and tape measures to ensure conformance with specifications. Ability to read blue prints, welding procedures, safety and quality standards, and effectively utilize equipment relevant to the work. Provide high quality workmanship to applicable code standards. Recognizes, sets up, and operates hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as air arc gouger, oxy-fuel torch, and grinders. Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to welding, using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and tape measure. Maintaining work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Welding Certificate from a vocational or technical school or 1 year of welding experience. Preferred not required
- Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and look ahead
- Perform maintenance on equipment
- Organized and strong attention to detail
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to comply with inspections checklists, operating maintenance instruction and other work-related information
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
