Job Description
This job description provides a baseline explanation of the requirements an employee is expected to meet for the duration they are in this position for J&L Contracting, LLC. Non-exempt "hourly status" Job title Custom Truck Builds Reports to Shop Supervisor Job purpose This position will perform minor and major truck builds with minimal supervision to ensure build specifications are met. Candidate must have a full understanding of how to remove and replace auto body parts. Duties and responsibilities Reconstruct internal & external panels and structure of vehicles including sheet metal, bumpers, fenders, and doors Able to install and remove parts Able to complete wiring tasks Able to do light fabrication and welding Able to use power tools Utilize tape measure to read and mark measurements Utilize computer for updates on work orders and work status Perform other job-related duties as assigned Education/Experience/Requirements
- Knowledge of auto body repair techniques and processes.
- Knowledge and possession of all tools required to perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles.
- Ability to follow schedules, instructions, technical manuals and specification guidelines, and other procedures associated with the maintenance of the company fleet
- Ability to judge the distance between equipment and an object
- Ability to repeatedly adjust the control and placement of equipment to exact position
- Ability to recognize unacceptable waste (such as diesel or other flammable materials)
- Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and other state and federal regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively and ask questions with internal and external customers
- Strong work ethic, demonstrating integrity and trust
- Ability to stay on task and self motivated
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet time sensitive deadlines
- Ability to be a self-starter capable of working effectively in a team environment or as an individual contributor
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend reports and associated documents

- Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects (repetitively)
- Ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example: two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting or standing
- Ability to make simple and repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists
- Knowledge of proper lifting techniques
- Ability to follow all company safety policies and procedures
