Part-Time Contract Trainer III:
Welding Instructor(s) . Part-time appointments are made on a semester-by-semester (as needed) basis. Qualified candidates may also be considered for other welding opportunities, such as Corporate Contract Training, Community Outreach Programs (such as 4H Welding, etc.), and SCC promotional events.
Hours:
Mornings, Afternoons and Evening positions
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The individual will deliver comprehensive welding instruction, update curriculum materials to align with industry standards and with the vision and mission of SCC. Assess and evaluate student performance, provide constructive feedback and support. Collaborate with faculty members to enhance the welding program. Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and safety standards. Attend departmental meetings, faculty development, and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide mentorship and guidance to students to help them succeed. Maintain supplies, confidential student records, monitor lab equipment. Follow procedures to ensure a safe learning environment. Ideal candidate(s) will perform instructional classroom and practical hands-on training. The candidate will deliver training to comply with industry recognized welding procedures and American Welding Society SENSE criteria. Must possess knowledge with respect to:
GMAW SMAW FCAW GTAW SAFETY THERMAL CUTTING BLUEPRINT READING NDT PROCEDURES MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
3-5 years of related experience as a Welder. Possess strong attention to detail, along with leadership experience.
Working knowledge of:
Welding, Cutting and Fabrication. Self-motivated and MUST work well with others.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
American Welding Society Certification(s). Welding Instructor / Trainer in an industrial environment St. Charles Community College is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
