DESCRIPTION:
Trade Team USA is seeking experienced 1st Class Structural Welders for opportunities in Pascagoula, MS. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of 1st Class shipyard structural welding experience and must be able to weld using ceramic backing tape and perform gouging. Candidates should have strong structural welding skills and be comfortable performing production welding in an active shipyard environment.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 3 years of 1st Class shipyard structural welding experience. Must have hands-on structural welding experience in a shipyard environment. Must be able to weld using ceramic backing tape. Must be able to gouge. Must be proficient with structural welding tools and equipment. Must be able to perform welding duties safely and according to applicable shipyard quality standards. Must be able to work the assigned shift and overtime as required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Perform 1st Class structural welding on shipboard structural components. Weld structural steel and related components according to applicable specifications. Perform welding using ceramic backing tape. Perform gouging as required for weld preparation, repair, and production work. Prepare weld joints and surfaces prior to welding. Inspect and clean weld areas before and after welding. Operate welding machines, grinders, gouging equipment, and other trade-specific tools. Follow applicable welding procedures and production requirements. Maintain required weld quality and workmanship standards. Follow all shipyard and company safety procedures. Perform additional structural welding duties as required by project and production needs.
