Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Pipe Welder specializing in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), commonly known as TIG welding, to join our fabrication and construction teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for precisely welding pipe components on construction sites and in fabrication shops, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality specifications. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring advanced welding techniques, mechanical knowledge, and meticulous attention to detail. The successful applicant will contribute significantly to the integrity and durability of metal structures by utilizing expert welding skills aligned with industry standards. Responsibilities Perform GTAW (TIG) welding on various pipe materials according to technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to guide fabrication and assembly processes. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to verify dimensions and ensure precise fit-up of components. Prepare surfaces and materials for welding, including cleaning and fitting pipe sections using hand tools and power tools. Maintain compliance with safety protocols at all times, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to site safety procedures. Operate additional equipment such as plasma cutters, forklifts, or machining tools as needed for fabrication tasks. Collaborate with team members on assembly, fabrication shop work, or construction site tasks involving metal materials. Conduct quality checks using measuring instruments to ensure welds meet AWS (American Welding Society) standards and project requirements. Document work progress and report any issues or deviations from specifications promptly. Support continuous improvement initiatives by adhering to best practices in welding, fabrication, and safety. Skills Extensive experience with GTAW (TIG) welding techniques on pipe and sheet metal components. Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting manufacturing specifications. Strong knowledge of AWS standards for welding quality assurance. Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise measurements. Familiarity with construction site environments, including crane operation and safety protocols. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment efficiently. Mechanical knowledge related to metal fabrication, sheet metal fabrication, and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Experience with MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and gas metal arc welding processes is a plus. Understanding of construction site safety procedures and the ability to work safely within a team environment. Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and fabrication adjustments. Knowledge of mechanical fabrication processes including assembly, machining, and plasma cutting. This position is integral to our commitment to delivering high-quality metal structures while maintaining a safe working environment. We welcome candidates who are dedicated professionals eager to apply their expertise in a dynamic setting.
