Southaven, Mississippi 💰 $30.00 - $60.00/Hour + 7 Days Per Diem 🔨 Contract-to-Hire Opportunity Job Description This role supports the buildout of high-performance data centers by fitting and welding large industrial piping and structural steel to ASME Section IX standards. You will work hands-on throughout construction, collaborating with mechanical, structural, electrical, and operations teams to weld pipe, supports, and structural assemblies from initial installation through final turnover on next-generation AI supercomputing infrastructure. Responsibilities Fit, tack, and weld large-bore industrial piping and structural steel, including pipe racks, platforms, supports, skids, and related assemblies, in accordance with drawings and ASME Section IX welding procedure specifications (WPS). Lay out, cut, bevel, grind, and align joints, ensuring proper fit-up, root opening, and reinforcement before and after welding. Read and interpret isometric, spool, and structural drawings, and work accurately to weld maps, heat numbers, and rod-control or continuity requirements where applicable. Support the installation and hanging of strut, supports, hangers, and structural members, and assist with equipment setting and bolt-up activities required to complete the weld package. Stage, move, and inventory pipe, fittings, structural members, filler metal, and tools, maintaining organized laydown yards and orderly work areas. Open and close work areas each shift, including installing protection, performing fire watch, managing hot-work permits, removing debris, segregating scrap, and resetting the area so the next crew can start work immediately. Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), personal protective equipment (PPE), hot-work, and site safety rules, and refrain from welding on live or unpurged systems without proper authorization. Report damaged materials, rejected welds, unsafe conditions, and drawing conflicts promptly so issues can be resolved quickly. Support punch-list completion, weld repairs, and NDE hold-point activities through system turnover. Essential Skills Journey-level industrial construction welding experience, typically 3+ years welding large industrial piping and/or structural steel, completion of a recognized welding apprenticeship, or equivalent military experience. Hands-on experience with GTAW (TIG) on stainless steel and/or SMAW (stick) on carbon steel. Current ASME Section IX qualification (for example, 6G) in GTAW on stainless steel and/or SMAW on carbon steel, or the ability to pass a pre-employment weld test to ASME Section IX in the processes and positions used on site.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Southaven, MS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
