Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Structural Steel Fitter to join our team in La Crosse, VA. This position requires someone who can come in on Day 1 with strong structural fitting skills, blueprint knowledge, and the ability to pass the required weld tests. Day 1 Expectations / Must-Haves Candidates must be able to: Pass a 3/8" Flat Weld Test Pass a Vertical Tack Test Pass a Single-Bead Vertical Weld Test Read and understand structural blueprints Accurately read a tape measure Understand and work with decimals and measurements Have hands-on experience fitting structural steel Structural Fitting Experience You should have experience fitting and assembling components such as: Structural beams Joists Webbing Connection plates Stiffeners Supporting brackets Other structural steel components What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is comfortable laying out, fitting, and assembling structural steel according to blueprints and specifications. You should be able to accurately measure, position, tack, and prepare components for final welding with minimal supervision. This is not an entry-level position. Candidates should have previous structural steel fitting experience and be prepared to demonstrate their skills during the weld and fitting evaluation.
