[Leapros] Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Welder in High Point, NC. We are seeking a skilled Welder to support high-volume pipe fabrication work for large-scale commercial and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 3 years of pipe welding experience, holds a 6G certification or is capable of passing a 6G test, and is proficient in SMAW (Stick) welding processes on carbon steel. This is a contract role working a Monday through Thursday schedule, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Valid Driver's License Responsibilities:

Perform pipe welding using manual or semi-automatic Stick (SMAW) processes on carbon steel. Assist with the assembly of piping segments, including attachment of fittings and related components. Clamp, tack-weld, heat-bend, and grind workpieces in accordance with project specifications. Inspect completed welds and workpieces to verify conformance with quality and safety standards. Read and interpret blueprints and specification documents to execute work accurately. Handle materials and equipment safely on the job site in compliance with applicable safety requirements. Provide and maintain personal hand tools required for daily tasks. Coordinate with the construction team to support efficient workflow and project timelines.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of pipe welding experience in a shop or field construction environment. Proficiency in SMAW (Stick) welding processes on carbon steel. Must hold a current 6G welding certification or be able to pass a 6G welding test prior to assignment. Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and welding specifications. Must provide own hand tools. Ability to pass a 5-year background check and drug screen. Experience running screw pipe is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, kneel, stoop, and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions including exposure to heat, fumes, and loud noise. Must have the manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required to operate welding equipment safely. Must be able to work in confined or awkward positions as required by pipe welding tasks. Must be aware of and comply with OSHA safety standards on the job site.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $30 to $35 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
