Job brief Custom industrial machine OEM is looking to immediately hire a qualified welder/fabricator to fit and weld ferrous and non-ferrous metals resulting in machine frames and components. Responsibilities Operate tools to produce precision parts per provided prints Reviewing samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output Planning the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job Take accurate measurements and marking material for cutting or shaping Calculate dimension and tolerances using measuring instruments Understand the particular function of each machine being used Select appropriate machine(s) for each job and position or load material for a job Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues Cut raw materials for welding and shaping as required Fit, tack and weld cut materials accurately for fabrication of machine frames Locate and drill holes as required per print Maintain cleanliness of job area Requirements Proven experience as welder/fabricator Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines Strong attention to detail Ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurements Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals Strong analytical and mathematical skills Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset Machines Miller TIG Miller MIG Torch cutting and straightening Cincinnati 10-foot hydraulic sheer Cincinnati 10-foot, 175 ton Hydraulic Brake Hyd-Mec V-18 Vertical saw
