Position Type:
Long-Term Temporary with Potential for Hire Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and dependable Welder to join our team in Hastings, NE. The Welder will fabricate, repair and assemble parts and components for equipment, products, and installations using MIG, MAG, TIG, stick/electrode and other appropriate welding methods. This is a long-term temporary opportunity with the possibility of being hired on permanently for employees who demonstrate strong performance, reliability, quality workmanship and a great work ethic. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, able to work independently and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing or repair environment. Responsibilities Select and use the appropriate welding method, including TIG, MIG, MAG and stick. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and manufacturer specifications. Plan and lay out work using shop math, measuring instruments and specifications. Set up and operate a conventional lathe to prepare welded parts. Properly identify materials and prepare components for welding. Perform assembly activities during production. Complete welding repairs on raw and finished parts. Perform welding installations according to technical drawings. Complete assigned welding work according to operating instructions. Inspect finished work to ensure quality, accuracy and proper workmanship. Meet production goals related to efficiency, scheduling and scrap reduction. Troubleshoot and correct process and equipment issues. Work with machinists and assemblers to identify and resolve repair and equipment problems. Accurately record production and repair information in computer systems or manual logs. Follow materials, documentation, and parts through the repair or manufacturing process. Perform required heat-treatment operations according to applicable procedures. Keep machines, tools, and work areas clean, safe and organized. Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements Previous welding experience in a manufacturing, mechanical or repair environment. Ability to evaluate and discuss quality welding workmanship. Welder certification required. High school diploma/GED and/or 0
•2 years of relevant experience. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Reliable and dependable attendance. Ability to work overtime and weekends when required
•sometimes on short notice. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive arm movements. Ability to frequently lift materials with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Strong customer-service mindset with a focus on quality and on-time completion. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team. Flexible, accurate and self-motivated work style. Preferred Experience & Skills Welding experience in mechanical manufacturing or the valve industry. PT and MT certifications. Post-weld heat-treatment experience. Strong technical understanding. SAP experience. Good teamwork and initiative. What We Offer $21.00
