Job Description
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Good communication skills and ability to communicate with other employees effectively to articulate specifics about tools, components and repairs
- Be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs
- Be able to sit, stand for extended periods, bend and reach
- Be able to work as a team member with other employees and maintain positive attitude
- Will be required to do all aspects of Assembly Operator Job Position
SPECIAL SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience and skills in Stick, MIG, and similar welding processes
- Ability to read and understand production drawings, sketches and specifications
- Ability to adjust and use manual and automatic welding machines of various types
- Ability to operate grinders, polishers and finishing tools to prepare and finish welds
- Ability to prioritize and organize schedule for maximum benefit
- Ability to design welding jigs and fixtures for existing products and new products and to work with engineering to complete designs
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and understand shop orders, engineering drawings and sketches
- Gather and organize required parts to be used in weldments
- Operate welding machines, grinders, polishers, assorted hand tools and machinery to execute tasks to perform welds
- Identify opportunities for improvement for welding processes, jigs and fixtures and collaborate with team to review potential and document according to quality requirements
- Support all aspects of welding within the facility
- Inspect and certify accuracy of products
- ERP reporting as appropriate
- Forklift certification for material movements
- Keep work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
- Help meet company quality expectations
- Other duties as required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
:- Certified Welder
AWS D1-1.1
Certification o Position 1G o Position 2G- High School degree or GED
- Will need to demonstrate aptitude in welding to qualify for this role This is a union position.
