The ideal candidate will be skilled in welding, metal fabrication, trailer and truck body repairs, and general repair work. Candidates with mechanical experience are highly preferred, as this role may also assist with preventive maintenance, inspections, and general fleet repairs. This position offers an opportunity to work on a variety of commercial trailers, straight trucks, liftgates, and tractors in a fast-paced repair environment. Schedule:
Sunday to Thursday 9pm - 5am Required Welding & Fabrication Experience Minimum 5+ years of welding experience MIG (wire) welding TIG and stick welding Aluminum welding Metal fabrication and custom repairs Cutting, grinding, and finishing metal components Torch cutting and metal shaping Reading measurements and fabricating accurately from specifications Strong problem-solving and fabrication skills Body Repair Experience Preparation and painting of repaired components Body filler (Bondo) application and repair Repairing damaged body panels and structural components Ability to restore equipment to safe operating condition Primary Responsibilities Perform trailer body repairs including: Sidewalls Floors Roofs Corner rails Top and bottom rails Floor beams and cross members Side, freezer, and liftgate steps Repair and replace trailer landing legs and associated components Repair straight truck bodies and structural components Diagnose and repair hydraulic liftgates (Maxon, Palfinger, Waltco, and others) Fabricate custom parts, brackets, hooks, and components as needed Repair and weld rear axle/banjo housings Replace and paint tractor and truck hoods Replace and paint bumpers on tractors and straight trucks Maintain a clean and safe work environment Complete work efficiently while meeting quality standards Preferred Mechanical Experience Candidates with mechanical experience will receive strong consideration and higher compensation.
Additional responsibilities may include:
Preventive Maintenance (PM) services DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) repairs General trailer and truck maintenance Assisting with fleet repair operations as needed Qualifications 5+ years of welding and fabrication experience Experience working on commercial trucks and trailers preferred Ability to safely operate welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication equipment Ability to read measuring tools and perform precise fabrication work Strong attention to detail and workmanship Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a shop environment Valid driver's license preferred Mechanical repair experience is a plus If you're a skilled welder who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, or a well-rounded welder/mechanic looking for a long-term opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.
