Job Description
We are looking to add to our team! CPP Syracuse is looking for a full time Welder for our facility on 2nd shift (Monday-Friday 2:30pm-11pm) to join our team! $1,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates, 5% Bonus program. Hourly rate $27
- 30 per hour depending on experience.
CANDIDATES OFFERED EMPLOYMENT ARE REQUIRED TO PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST & BACKGROUND STUDY PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT
Major Responsibilities- Ability to weld by method of GTAW for rework, repair and cosmetic upgrade in accordance with customer specifications and internal procedures. Candidate is progressing towards welding certification for all alloys.
- Evaluate castings to ensure preparation from prior operation is adequate.
- Assess the condition of the castings to determine weld technique.
- Perform additional weld preparation with the use of die and belt grinders.
- Operate and maintain welding machines and equipment.
- Ability to document weld locations and dimensions.
- Identify and implement improvement opportunities through the use of lean tools such as Systematic Problem Solving, Process Management, Value Stream Mapping, etc.
- Responsible for adherence to all safety policies, practices and procedures.

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)Experience:

LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, simple drawings, procedure manuals and Internal Method Sheets (IMS).
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.
