CPP Syracuse is looking for a full time Welder for our facility on 2nd shift (Monday-Friday 2:30pm-11pm) to join our team! $1,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates, 5% Bonus program. Hourly rate $27

• 30 per hour depending on experience.

$2/hour shift differential Primary Purpose Perform all required duties relating to Gas Tungsten Arc welding (GTAW) of investment castings.

CANDIDATES OFFERED EMPLOYMENT ARE REQUIRED TO PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST & BACKGROUND STUDY PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT

Major Responsibilities

• Ability to weld by method of GTAW for rework, repair and cosmetic upgrade in accordance with customer specifications and internal procedures. Candidate is progressing towards welding certification for all alloys.
• Evaluate castings to ensure preparation from prior operation is adequate.
• Assess the condition of the castings to determine weld technique.
• Perform additional weld preparation with the use of die and belt grinders.
• Operate and maintain welding machines and equipment.
• Ability to document weld locations and dimensions.
• Identify and implement improvement opportunities through the use of lean tools such as Systematic Problem Solving, Process Management, Value Stream Mapping, etc.
• Responsible for adherence to all safety policies, practices and procedures.

Education:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience:

Formal training or classes a plus.

Certifications/Licenses:

Maintain welding certification for GTAW
