Job Description
Aluminum Welder / Shipfitter Derecktor Shipyard NY is adding to our team of experienced
ALUMINUM WELDERS
.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidates must be able to perform- SMAW /Stick, FCAW /Flux Core, GMAW /Aluminum and TIG .
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Be skilled in the fabrication and repair of equipment, fixtures and structures Ability to read and understand drawings and weld symbols Tool/equipment operation knowledge High attention to detailsRequired Qualifications:
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WELDING ALUMINUM
Pass an internal welding test Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds Must pass a drug test and background check Preferred- Experience working in a shipyard/ship repair environment Preferred
OSHA Safety Training Minimum Education:
Welding Certificate- Preferred Minimum 2 years of aluminum welding experience
Work Environment Summary:
Applicant may be subject to environmental conditions such as cold, heat, exposure to noise, hazards, and confined spaces/close quarters. Applicant must be able to access all areas of the shipyard and company property including docks in all types of weather conditions. Shipyard work is often noisy and dirty.Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit/stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, see with close vision, and access confined spaces. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Must have the ability to move easily between buildings, ascend/descend ladders and work outdoors in shipyards/marinas in all kinds of weather.Benefits:
