Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. This role is vital in ensuring the precision and quality of metal structures and components across various construction and manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in welding techniques, blueprint interpretation, and mechanical fabrication, demonstrating a strong commitment to safety and craftsmanship. As a Certified Welder, you will play a key role in bringing complex designs to life through expert welding practices, adhering to industry standards and project specifications. Duties Perform welding operations using various techniques such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) on different metal materials including sheet metal and structural components. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, power tools, and shop math to verify dimensions and ensure precise fit-up of parts. Operate torches, plasma cutters, machining tools, and other equipment to prepare materials for welding or assembly. Follow strict safety protocols, including proper handling of welding gases, power tools, and metal materials to maintain a safe work environment at all times. Fabricate metal structures by cutting, shaping, assembling, and welding components according to ASME codes & standards and AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Collaborate with team members on construction site projects or fabrication shop tasks to meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Qualifications Proven experience in construction site environments with a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes. Certification from recognized welding authorities such as AWS or equivalent industry standards. Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately. Skilled in the use of measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise measurements. Mechanical knowledge related to assembly, machining, plasma cutting, sheet metal fabrication, and construction practices. Familiarity with safety protocols specific to welding operations and construction sites. Experience working with construction equipment such as cranes or power tools is preferred. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent hand tool skills for metalworking tasks. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while adhering to quality standards.
