Job Description

About us Thurston Mechanical is a local, family-owned, Industrial Plumbing company. Hours are Monday through Friday 7:00am
  • 4:00pm with opportunities for overtime.
Individuals must have their own transportation to work and job sites. All positions with Thurston Mechanical include performing duties and jobs as assigned, as we may need assistance for work outside of the specific position you are hired for. Pay is experience based and pending on weld test during interview process.
Duties:
  • Perform TIG pipe welding tasks in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine welding requirements
  • Measure and mark pipes for cutting and fitting
  • Ensure proper alignment and fit of pipes before welding
  • Inspect welded joints to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Test welded joints for leaks or other defects
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Must be able to weld in a shop and field setting
Requirements:
  • Proficient in basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols
  • Experience with pipe welding techniques and procedures
  • Familiarity with different types of metals and their properties
