Syracuse Haulers is a full-line waste removal company locally owned and operated who is dedicated and designed to build successful partnerships using our superior customer service. We are very proud of our select staff and are looking for an experienced, team-oriented individual to join our growing team! As a Welder and Fabricator , you will be required to work in our fast-paced fabrication shop and assigned to a service truck for daily scheduled road service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Repair hydraulic cylinders, three-phase power units, compactors and bailers
• Install compactors/bailers
• Provide road-service repairs and P.M.'s
• Operate appropriate equipment to construct mechanical structures or parts and to prepare necessary components for welding
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on plan specifications and welding requirements
• Set up fixture for welding operations
• Weld both vertical and horizontal plane geometry
• Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal and overhead)
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to ensure quality and adherence to design specifications/codes
• Operate and maintain equipment to ensure safety standards are met
• Seek opportunities for continuous improvement

Qualifications and Skills:

• Eligible to work in the U.S
• Must have a valid driver's license within the state of employment
• Prior experience as a welder and fabricator with the ability to demonstrate skills/ability
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG, griding, sanding, etc.)
• Experience using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents/drawings
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work in accordance with safety standards and adhere to all required safety regulations (i.e., protective gear and equipment)
• Professional certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus Why Work for Syracuse Haulers?
