Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:30

PM Lunch:

Expected; shifts may extend until 4:30 PM as needed Job Overview We are seeking a skilled GMAW (MIG) Pipe Welder to join a fabrication team serving the fire sprinkler industry. This role involves welding carbon steel outlets onto steel pipe using both automated welding equipment and manual welding techniques. While a large portion of production welding is machine-assisted, candidates must possess hands-on welding experience and be able to identify weld defects, evaluate weld quality, and perform repairs when necessary. This is a fast-paced production environment where safety, quality, and productivity are critical to success. Must‑Haves Minimum 1 year of MIG (GMAW) welding experience Minimum 1 year of machine operation experience Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure Ability to work safely in a manufacturing or fabrication environment Basic computer skills Good communication skills Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Preferred Qualifications Experience welding carbon steel pipe Pipe fabrication experience Fire sprinkler industry experience Experience with: Outlet welding Spool fabrication Flange welding Ability to identify weld defects and perform weld repairs ResponsibilitiesWelding & Fabrication Weld carbon steel outlets onto steel pipe used in fire sprinkler systems Perform manual GMAW (MIG) welding on carbon steel pipe and fabricated assemblies Complete specialty welding projects including: Spool pieces Flanges Related fabrication components Operate automated and semi-automated welding equipment Quality Control Inspect welds for: Weld defects Proper dimensions Alignment End preparations Seam splits Repair weld discontinuities and failed welds Ensure products meet company quality standards Machine Operation & Production Operate fabrication and welding equipment safely Read and interpret production paperwork and work instructions Use tape measures and measuring tools to verify dimensions Meet production goals and productivity expectations Safety & Housekeeping Maintain a clean, organized, and safe welding station Report equipment malfunctions and maintenance needs Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards Weld Test & Qualification RequirementsInterview Weld Test All candidates must complete a hands-on weld test during the interview process: Weld 1-inch outlets onto 2-inch steel pipe Welding process: GMAW (MIG) Welds will be evaluated through visual inspection Candidates Must Bring Welding Hood Welding Jacket Welding Gloves Steel-Toe or Composite-Toe Shoes Appropriate PPE Employment Qualification Requirement Candidates must successfully pass a: Manual GMAW 2G Pipe Welding Qualification Test during their first week of employment.
