Job Description

Niles Mfg. & Finishing, Inc., located in Niles, Ohio, provides a full range of high technology paint coating services for various industrial markets. We are a family-owned company looking for dependable team members seeking a long-term opportunity with a stable, growing team. We value our employees and offer opportunities for growth and advancement As a welder, you will weld metal components together with brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as truck, assembly, or machine parts.

Retirement Plan Responsibilities:
Welds metal parts together using a combination of arc, MIG, and gas welding processes. Must watch for defects in parts and alert supervisor of any defects. Performs related tasks such as grinding, buffing, bending and straightening of metal. Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts. Fabricates or repairs hooks or other items as needed Uses fixtures and positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding. Uses measuring devices including tape measure as required. Keeps the department clean and orderly. Performs basic maintenance on machines Follows all safety guidelines Follows all work instructions, fills out quality check sheets and accurately completes all tags. Complies with safety regulations, promotes workplace safety and reports all unsafe acts. Wears all PPE as required
Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or on to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must pass in-house weld test or be a certified welder. Blueprint reading is a plus.
Physical Demands:
Required to stand for long periods of time, use hands for lifting and/or carrying, pushing and/or pulling, bending and reaching, vision is required to see defects, speaking, and hearing requirements for alarms. The employee must frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
An industrial manufacturing plant with moderate noise levels and forklift traffic. Employees will perform tasks around equipment. Employees will be working in a non-climate controlled area, which may expose them to hot or cold temperatures. Environmental hazards, including the presence of dirt, dust, and potential environmental hazards. It is the policy of the Company to promote from within when possible.
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
