As a Welder I at LogistiQ, A Division of LEWCO , you will be a part of our Weld Operations team. The ideal candidate will weld company products using GMAW (MIG) process and interpreting mechanical drawings.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)- Perform welding of basic company parts made of carbon steel.
- Interpret mechanical drawings including weld symbols.
- Perform quality checks using appropriate gauges, including calipers and dial indicators.
- Use hand and power tools as required to complete work.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Travel Demands:
- May require occasional local travel.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Owns required personal hand tools.
- Proficient with GMAW (MIG) welding.
- Read and understand mechanical drawings and weld symbols preferred.
- Ability to read calibration equipment preferred.
- Able to pass math and measurement assessment.
- Able to pass entry level GMAW (MIG) weld test.
- Basic reading and writing skills in the English language.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Able to convert decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals.
- Able to read a tape measure within 1/16".
- Basic data entry skills including how to print documents.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Successful completion of 60-day probationary period.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- High school welding GMAW (MIG) certificate preferred.
- Post high school certificate or degree in welding preferred.
- One year of manufacturing GMAW (MIG) weld experience is preferred.
