Job Title:
Fabrication Tech Job Description As a Fabrication Tech, you will engage in a variety of hands-on automotive development activities. This entry-level position involves vehicle assembly, metal fabrication/welding, and rapid prototyping using 3D printing. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys working with tools, and is eager to learn new skills in a fast-paced, prototype-focused environment. Responsibilities Assemble and disassemble vehicle components following work instructions. Use basic hand and pneumatic tools to support prototype vehicle builds. Assist with the installation of mechanical, electrical, and fluid system components. Read and follow basic blueprints, drawings, and build sheets with provided training. Support fabrication of brackets, fixtures, and prototype parts. Operate basic fabrication tools such as saws, grinders, drills, and shears. Assist with part preparation, fit-up, and finishing. Learn to safely perform basic MIG/TIG welding operations with available training. Maintain clean and safe fabrication work areas. Operate additive manufacturing equipment after training. Assist with 3D printed part post-processing: sanding, trimming, fitting, and bonding. Perform basic part measurements and record results accurately. Support routine machine maintenance and lab organization. Essential Skills 1 year of experience in a related field. Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in automotive technology. Experience using common hand tools and a willingness to learn fabrication and welding skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Basic computer skills including email, Microsoft Office, and simple data entry. Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks. Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail. Positive attitude and willingness to learn new processes quickly. Additional Skills & Qualifications Automotive shop or technical school coursework is preferred. Experience with welding, fabrication, or machining is a plus. Familiarity with 3D printing or CAD software is advantageous. Previous automotive service, dealership, factory, or hobbyist experience is beneficial. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is very clean, focusing on the testing and disassembly of current and future automotive models. The role involves exposure to combustible liquids but not to compressed gases or extreme temperatures. Physical activities include bending, crouching, lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling equipment, and a variety of moderate physical activities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Raymond, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
