Welder:
Position Summary The Welder/Mechanic/Forklift Operator is responsible for performing welding, mechanical maintenance and repair, material handling, and forklift operations in an industrial environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, the ability to work safely, and effective communication skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with tools, equipment, machinery, and materials while following established safety procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Welding Responsibilities Perform welding and fabrication tasks according to specifications, drawings, and blueprints. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions. Use appropriate welding equipment and techniques to complete assigned projects. Perform manual and mechanical welding operations. Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity. Understand basic principles of metallurgy and how different metals respond to heat and welding processes. Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner. Welding experience with TIG, MIG, arc, and oxy-fuel welding is encouraged but not required. Job will consist of 30% welding Mechanical Responsibilities Perform general mechanical repairs and maintenance on machinery, equipment, and other industrial systems. Troubleshoot mechanical problems and identify the cause of equipment issues. Use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment safely and properly. Assist with equipment installation, adjustments, repairs, and preventative maintenance. Inspect machinery and equipment for wear, damage, or potential safety concerns. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements. Must have your own welding tools. Job will consist of 70% mechanical work. Forklift and Material Handling Responsibilities Safely operate forklifts in busy industrial environments. Maneuver forklifts safely around employees, equipment, inventory, and other obstacles. Stack and unstack large quantities of materials and goods onto shelves, pallets, and designated storage areas. Move materials and goods from storage areas to loading areas for shipment. Unload incoming deliveries and safely relocate materials to their designated storage locations. Consolidate partial pallets of incoming goods when appropriate. Ensure forklift operating areas remain free of spills, debris, and other obstructions. Perform regular inspections of forklifts and report any faults, damage, or maintenance concerns. Use industrial plastic wrap, wooden pallets, and other materials to safely secure and package goods for transportation. Properly secure and organize materials to prevent damage during storage and transportation. Follow all forklift operating procedures, company policies, and health and safety requirements. Qualifications and Skills Previous welding, mechanical, and/or forklift experience preferred. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings. Knowledge of metallurgy and welding principles. Knowledge of various welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, arc, and oxy-fuel welding, is a plus. Knowledge of manual and mechanical welding techniques. Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment. Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment. Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to perform a variety of duties as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required. Ability to work around machinery, welding equipment, and industrial materials. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb as necessary to perform job duties. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to safely perform duties in a potentially noisy and physically demanding industrial environment.
