Job Description

Summary:
Plan, lay out and perform complex welding operations on a wide variety of metals, including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium and alloys (nickel alloy) in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions. TIG, MIG and Fabrication.
Preferred Skills:
Material handling for raw material and finished products using overhead cranes or forklift. Track and record labor hours associated with each job Maintains equipment, making repairs or modifications when necessary Sets up and operate other fabricating machines to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, burn or otherwise form and assemble metal components. Reading blueprints and interpreting welding symbols, customer specifications and procedure documents Fit-up parts and assemblies prior to welding Previous experience in welding and fabricating with aluminum, steel, titanium, stainless steel & alloy plate required. Weld proficiently in various positions Grinding and cutting using hand plasma as required Operate safety equipment and use safe works practices Perform general welding and related shop duties as needed by a supervisor Understands time expectations and most jobs are completed within time estimates Works independently on a regular basis and judgement can be trusted
Physical Requirements:
Position requires physical capability which includes standing most of the time, some lifting up to 25 to 50 pounds, and pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching as needed. Standard shift is eight hours per day, with Steel-toe boots and safety glasses required.
Required Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent Certificate of welding school or relevant experience Experience in
GMAW & GTAW
welding processes - 2 years+ Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to build complex fabrications Strong understanding of blueprints, weld symbols, and weld joint designs Demonstrates ingenuity and creativity in problem-solving Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
