Position Overview:
A Welder/Fabricator is responsible for cutting, shaping, assembling, and finishing metal materials to create aluminum awnings and canopies according to technical drawings and specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to use a variety of fabrication tools and equipment. This position is for
Second Shift:
3pm-11:30pm Training will be conducted during the First Shift 7am-3:30pm Key Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders Measure, cut, bend, and shape materials using saws, shears, torches, grinders, and other fabrication tools Perform welding (MIG, TIG) to assemble awning components as required Operate machinery such as press brakes, drill presses, up-cut saw Inspect finished canopies, awnings and mounting hardware for accuracy and work quality Perform layout work and material preparation Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area Troubleshoot fabrication issues and recommend improvements Collaborate with other fabrication team members Required Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (vocational training preferred) Experience in metal fabrication and welding aluminum Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measurement devices Welding experience (certification is a plus) Strong understanding of shop safety procedures Good manual dexterity and physical stamina Ability to work independently and in a team environment Physical Requirements Ability to lift 70 lbs. or more Standing, bending, and working on your feet for extended periods Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Work Environment Fabrication shop or manufacturing facility Exposure to noise, dust, heat, and heavy machinery Follows OSHA and company safety standards
