1st Climate Controlled Job Description This role involves performing high‑quality MIG and Flux‑Core welding on pipes of various sizes and materials, including stainless steel 304 and 316, in a climate‑controlled fabrication environment. You will read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings, and set up, adjust, and maintain welding equipment to complete precise and reliable welds. Responsibilities Perform MIG and Flux‑Core welding on pipes of various sizes and materials, including stainless steel 304 and 316. Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain welding equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings to plan and execute welding tasks accurately. Prepare pipe joints and workpieces, including fitting, aligning, and securing components prior to welding. Perform welds in the 6G position and complete required weld tests to demonstrate proficiency and quality. Inspect welds visually and with measuring tools to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards. Follow fabrication plans to assemble and weld components into finished products or subassemblies. Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle materials and equipment safely. Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and resolve fabrication or fit‑up issues. Adhere to all safety procedures, guidelines, and best practices while working with welding equipment and materials. Essential Skills 2+ years of pipe welding experience preferred, with a focus on MIG and Flux‑Core processes. Proficiency in MIG welding on pipe applications. Proficiency in Flux‑Core welding on pipe applications. Experience welding stainless steel pipe, including grades 304 and 316. Ability to pass a 6G MIG and Flux‑Core pipe weld test. 6G welding certification or equivalent demonstrated skill level. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings. Ability to set up, adjust, and maintain welding equipment safely and correctly. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality welds. Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively in a fabrication environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Nice to have: D1.1 structural welding certification.Nice to have:
D1.6 stainless steel welding certification. Experience with TIG welding in a fabrication setting. General fabrication, including fitting and assembly work. Comfort working on a 1st shift schedule in a production or fabrication environment. Why Work Here? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
