This position will work on a variety of custom fabrication projects, including handrail, light structural components, pipe spools, and other shop fabrication work. The ideal candidate is a skilled

MIG/FCAW

welder who currently holds a WABO certification or

AWS D1.1

certification and is comfortable working from drawings to produce quality finished work.

Pay:

$30

DOE Certified Welder Responsibilities:

Perform welding and fabrication on handrail, light structural components, pipe spools, and other custom fabrication projects. Perform MIG and/or FCAW welding in accordance with project requirements. Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols. Measure, lay out, and prepare materials for welding and fabrication. Fit and assemble fabricated components as required. Inspect completed welds and fabricated components for quality and accuracy. Use grinders, saws, and other common fabrication shop tools. Follow applicable welding procedures and project specifications. Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Certified Welder Qualifications:

Current WABO certification and/or

AWS D1.1

certification strongly preferred. Previous professional welding and fabrication experience. Strong MIG and/or FCAW welding skills. Experience with handrail, structural fabrication, pipe spool fabrication, or similar work preferred. Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols. Fitting and fabrication experience preferred. Comfortable working independently on custom and short-run fabrication projects. Strong attention to weld quality, measurements, and finished product. Reliable attendance and a safety-focused work ethic.
