Essential Skills At least 5 years of MIG welding experience in an industrial equipment manufacturing or industrial fabrication shop environment. Strong proficiency in MIG welding, including spray arc welding, with the ability to perform high-quality welds primarily in flat positions and some out-of-position work. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders with a strong understanding of weld symbols. Demonstrated fitting and fabrication experience, including laying out, aligning, and fitting structural components. Experience working around large-scale parts in an industrial fabrication shop. Ability to accurately use measuring tools, including tape measures, to ensure proper fit and dimensions. Capability to set up and operate welding equipment and related fabrication tools safely and effectively. Competence in performing air arc gouging for weld removal and joint preparation. Experience with rigging and safe use of cranes and jib cranes to move and position heavy components. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with spray arc welding processes in a production or industrial setting. Familiarity with metal-cored wire and flux core welding processes, even though most work will be spray arc. Knowledge of structural steel fabrication and assembly. Ability to interpret and apply universal weld symbols accurately. Comfort working with various materials commonly used in industrial fabrication. Strong attention to detail in weld quality, visual inspection, and part preparation. Reliable work habits and willingness to work day or swing shifts with potential overtime. Commitment to following safety procedures in environments with fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and elevated work areas. Why Work Here? You will join a stable, growth-oriented organization with a diversified portfolio of business across multiple markets, providing strong job security and long-term career opportunities. The company is expanding its production capacity with two new large fabrication shops, bringing more projects in-house and creating additional opportunities for skilled trades professionals. Team members benefit from a generous package that includes profit sharing paid three times per year when the company is profitable, a comprehensive holiday schedule, progressive paid time off that increases with tenure, company-paid long-term disability insurance covering up to a portion of wages, and company-paid life insurance equal to annual salary. The culture emphasizes partnership with customers around the globe, continuous improvement, and investment in modern fabrication facilities, offering a professional environment where your skills are valued and your contribution directly supports the success and stability of the business. The day shift runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., with overtime available at the beginning of the shift and the need to be open to starting as early as 5:00 a.m. The swing shift runs Monday through Thursday from 3:45 p.m. to 2:15 a.m., with optional overtime on Fridays and a shift differential for swing hours. The work environment involves frequent exposure to fumes and airborne particles, occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and elevated, potentially precarious work areas, and a generally high noise level typical of an active fabrication shop.
