Job Title:
Flux Core Welder Job Description This role focuses on performing high-quality MIG and flux core structural and plate welding on bridge and large office building projects. You will complete critical structural welds that must meet stringent state and federal transportation codes and successfully pass a hands-on weld test administered toAWS D1.5

Execute critical structural welds that comply with strict state and federal transportation codes and project specifications. Read and interpret blueprints and welding drawings to plan and complete welds accurately. Fit and assemble structural steel components prior to welding to ensure proper alignment and structural integrity. Follow the company Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) precisely, including all parameters and settings for FCAW welding. Complete a 3G vertical up weld test in accordance withAWS D1.5
Bridge Welding Code, using 1/16" diameter FCAW filler metal. Prepare and grind test plates flush for radiographic (X-ray) testing to verify internal weld soundness perAWS D1.5
acceptance criteria. Maintain high standards of weld quality, including bead size, penetration, and appearance, such as producing a 5/16" bead with MIG/Flux core processes. Use fabrication tools and grinding equipment safely to prepare materials, finish welds, and meet required tolerances. Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, meeting production goals while maintaining safety and quality standards. Collaborate with supervisors and team members to coordinate work, resolve technical issues, and ensure project timelines are met. Adhere to all site safety protocols and guidelines while working in largely outdoor conditions on structural steel projects.
