Job Description
Burnham Commercial Burnham Commercial is a leading manufacturer and marketer of high-quality boilers and control systems for commercial and industrial applications. Our history of quality, reliability and value make Burnham Commercial the leader in commercial heating equipment. While there are many imitators, there's only one Burnham Commercial. We are looking for an Submerged Arc Welder/Automatic Welder to join our team! Under general supervision this position welds steel plate(s) of all kinds by using the submerged arc automatic welding machine. Welds horizontal seams and vertical circumferential seams. Uses air arc to clean the joints in order to prepare the joint for weld and x-ray. May be required to perform some welding by using electric arc welding machine. Has satisfactorily passed the A.S.M.E. welding tests, including the stress tests, applied to the sample welds. The Ideal Candidate will be able to perform Submerged Arc Welding. This is a full-time, union-hourly position located in Lancaster, PA. Hours are Monday-Friday, 6 AM - 2:30 PM; Saturdays as needed (maximum of two required 6 AM - 12 PM). Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Operates automatic welding machine at required speed and heat. Air arc joints as required. Produces a completed weld satisfactory to the A.S.M.E. requirements and suitable to pass x-ray and be free of voids. Welds seams on high and low pressure vessels. Interprets welding symbols as used on blueprints. Removes slag from weld with slag hammer or wire brush. Stamps all welds with his personal certification stamp. Performs related work as directed commensurate with this or lesser rates labor grade.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience MUST be able to Submerged Arc Weld MUST be able to pass ASME SingleA 1G & 2G
Test and 1G Submerged Arc Test Ability to read blueprints and/or diagrams Experience with measuring toolsPhysical Demands:
