Job Description
Job Overview:
This position is responsible for the SAFE layout, fitting, tack welding, grinding, and properly tagging of products being produced in the fabrication department, ensuring components are accurately aligned and prepared to specification prior to final welding.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints to determine layout, assembly sequence, and dimensional requirements
- Measuring, marking, and laying out material using squares, tape measures, levels, and other layout tools
- Fitting, aligning, and clamping parts and assemblies to drawing specifications and tolerances
- Tack welding components to hold fit-up in place prior to final welding
- Grinding, cleaning, and truing up parts and joints to prepare for welding
- Properly tagging completed work with required information
- Follow all SOP's and JSA's
- Operation of forklifts and hoists
- Checking quality of work to drawings / specification and part quantity
- Other task as instructed by supervision
