Looking for welders with at least 4 years of industrial welding plate work. Test is 16" plate 1" thick in 2,3,4G positions. Must be able to weld Fluxcore w ceramic backing and SMAW Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Structural Welder specializing in Ceramic Flux welding to join our fabrication team. This role involves executing precise welding operations on structural metal components, ensuring adherence to safety standards and technical specifications. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in metal fabrication, blueprint interpretation, and various welding techniques, contributing to the successful completion of complex projects. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where craftsmanship and safety are paramount. Duties Perform structural welding using Ceramic Flux techniques, ensuring high-quality welds that meet industry standards. Read and interpret detailed mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings accurately. Utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes to verify dimensions and tolerances. Operate various hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and gas cutting equipment safely and efficiently. Fabricate metal components by cutting, shaping, assembling, and welding sheet metal and structural steel materials. Follow safety protocols rigorously to maintain a safe working environment on construction sites and within fabrication shops. Use different welding processes including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW or MIG), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) to meet project specifications. Measure and verify completed welds with precision using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Interpret technical drawings accurately for pipe threading, assembly, and fabrication tasks. Maintain detailed records of work performed and inspect completed welds for quality assurance. Skills Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of structural steel fabrication. Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including
SMAW, GMAW
(MIG), TIG, and FCAW according to AWS standards. Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications. Skilled in measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math, and basic math for precise fabrication. Mechanical knowledge of metal materials, sheet metal fabrication, pipe threading, plasma cutting, and assembly processes. Familiarity with crane operation, power tools, hand tools, and safety protocols on construction sites. Experience with mechanical blueprint interpretation and mechanical fabrication processes. Strong understanding of safety procedures related to welding operations and metal fabrication environments. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings while maintaining quality standards.
