Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Welder to join our production team. This position is responsible for the fabrication and welding of various components used in the manufacturing and repair of transformers. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with metal fabrication, welding techniques, and can interpret engineering drawings to ensure high-quality and precise builds. The hours for this position are Friday to Sunday 12 hours, 5:00AM to 5:30PM, with a guaranteed 40 hours. Weld and assemble transformer components including: Transformer tanks (oil-filled or dry-type)Radiator fins and bracketsLifting lugs, base channels, conservators, and other structural parts Use MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding techniques based on material and project requirements.

Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications.

Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of welded parts using jigs, clamps, and measuring tools.

Perform grinding, cutting, and surface preparation prior to and after welding.

Conduct pre-weld and post-weld inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Repair cracks, leaks, or damage on transformer tanks or components as required.

Operate hand tools, overhead cranes, forklifts, and other shop equipment safely.

Maintain welding equipment and tools provided by the organization Communicate with engineering, quality, and production teams regarding design changes or fabrication issues.

Ability to mentor novice welders in the area of welding and fabrication Support continuous improvement efforts in welding and fabrication processes.

Following all safety protocols which includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), glove, safety glasses, etc. Maintain safe, clean, and orderly workstation.

Other assigned duties as needed.
