August 31, 2026 - August 30, 2027 (12-Month Contract) Overview We are seeking a skilled Welder II to join a manufacturing team supporting mission-critical products. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on welding experience who take pride in producing high-quality work, following established procedures, and maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety. The successful candidate will work with steel and aluminum materials, interpret technical documentation, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to meet production and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Perform high-quality welding operations on steel and aluminum components in accordance with engineering specifications and welding procedures. Read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and production documentation. Load and unload parts onto welding tables and fixtures using hand tools, ratchets, and pneumatic tools. Inspect parts and completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. Troubleshoot production or welding issues and recommend corrective actions as needed. Move materials, parts, fixtures, and containers using hoists, pallet jacks, and forklifts. Complete work orders, labor reporting, quality records, and other production documentation accurately and on time. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Assist with training and knowledge-sharing activities for team members. Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented manufacturing environment. Perform additional duties as assigned to support business and operational needs. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Technical welding training from a vocational school, accredited technical college, or recognized welding program. Minimum of 2 years of welding experience using GMAW (MIG) or GTAW (TIG) processes on aluminum and/or carbon steel. Ability to successfully pass welding qualification tests for both steel and aluminum using GMAW-P and GTAW processes. Knowledge of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and proper use of weld gauges. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions. Proficiency in shop mathematics, including calculations and dimensional measurements. Ability to understand machine controls, tooling requirements, fixtures, and make necessary adjustments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, defense, aerospace, or heavy industrial environment. Forklift operation experience and certification. Experience working with quality management systems and production documentation. Physical Requirements Ability to hold and maneuver welding torches and operate foot and hand controls for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 32 pounds and apply up to 32 pounds of torque using hand tools and ratchets. Ability to operate a scissor lift, including stepping up approximately 27 inches and working at heights up to 15 feet. Ability to operate hoists, pallet jacks, and forklifts. Forklift operation requires successful certification and the ability to step up approximately 14 inches onto equipment.
