Job Description
Precision TIG Fabrication Specialist A day in this role You start your shift by reviewing blueprints and job travelers, then power up your TIG machine to assemble thin-gauge metal components that must hit tight tolerances. You verify your first-article welds, record them in the E2 management system, and keep momentum by planning your sequence to meet delivery dates. As parts move, you clean and maintain your welding equipment, monitor fluid levels, and return fixtures and tooling as each job wraps. When something unexpected pops up, you troubleshoot, escalate to supervision if needed, and share set-up reduction or Lean 6S ideas that make the next run smoother. What you'll do Perform TIG welding to assemble fabricated metal products efficiently and to specification; apply MIG knowledge as needed. Produce parts that meet all quality requirements; inspect and verify your work before submitting for final inspection. Hold tight tolerances and follow prints and technical documents throughout production. Meet time and schedule standards for each assigned task and customer delivery requirement. Keep welding stations and tools clean; maintain proper machine fluid levels. Return all fixtures and tooling upon job completion. Make routine decisions, solve day-to-day manufacturing issues, and seek assistance when appropriate. Communicate clearly with teammates and coordinate your own workflow. Spot opportunities for set-up reduction and Lean process improvements and relay them to the proper 6S team lead. Use the E2 management system properly and consistently to meet company standards. Performance expectations Hit required delivery dates across assigned jobs. Meet customer delivery commitments. Achieve quality standards for all processes you perform. Operate safely in all tasks. What you bring Proficiency welding thin-gauge materials with sound penetration and clean appearance. Strong TIG operation skills; working knowledge of MIG. Ability to read/interpret blueprints and technical documents relevant to machining and fabrication. Competence with shop and hand tools, including rolls; ability to use various inspection gages. Basic math and basic computer skills. Organizational strength, time management, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task independently. Continuous improvement mindset—willing to analyze, challenge, and refine processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; self-starter attitude. Experience and credentials Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Valid Driver's License. Work setting Moderate-noise fabrication environment; PPE may be required.
