Job Description
HM Staffing is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Pipe Welders to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing piping systems using various welding techniques. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of welding codes and safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project plans
- Measure, cut, and shape pipes using saws, grinders, and torches
- Weld pipes using TIG, MIG, Stick, or other welding methods
- Inspect welds for quality, strength, and compliance with specifications
- Maintain and calibrate welding equipment and tools
- Follow strict safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear
- Repair or replace damaged pipe systems and components
- Prepare workpieces by cleaning, clamping, and positioning materials
- Document work performed and report any issues or defects Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Trade school certification or completed apprenticeship (preferred)
- AWS or equivalent welding certification
- 2+ years of experience in pipe welding or related field
- Familiarity with AWS, ASME, ANSI, and API codes Strong physical dexterity and ability to work in confined spaces or adverse conditions Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills Lift certified
