Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and energetic Fabricator/Welder to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of high-quality metal structures and products, ensuring they meet technical specifications and project deadlines. Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately produce components. Use various hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes to prepare materials for welding and assembly. Perform welding operations including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and welding techniques following AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other metal materials using plasma cutters, machining tools, and fabrication equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints to ensure precise fabrication according to specifications. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols, including proper use of safety gear and equipment on construction sites or in the shop. Collaborate with team members on assembly projects, ensuring quality control throughout the fabrication process. Operate cranes and other heavy machinery safely when handling large or heavy materials on-site or in the shop. Conduct inspections of completed work using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to verify accuracy. Qualifications Proven experience in metal fabrication and welding within a manufacturing or construction environment. Strong knowledge of welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and welding standards. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical diagrams with confidence. Familiarity with measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and shop math for precise fabrication. Experience working on construction sites or in a fabrication shop setting is highly preferred. Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes and use of hand tools and power tools. Understanding of safety protocols related to welding operations and heavy machinery use. Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and quality checks during fabrication tasks. Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately while adhering to AWS standards for quality assurance.
