Job description Job Summary Labor Services Company is a family-owned transportation company that has been in operation for over fifty (50) years and is currently seeking a skilled ISO tank mechanic/ welder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have to fill a dual role; namely, an ISO tank mechanic and a welder when needed. The location will be Hazel Crest(mainly), Joliet, Chicago. Starting $28-$30/hr pending on experience 7:30am to 4:30pm Mon-Fri May be asked from time-to- time to work later than 4:30pm or the weekend Responsibilities Requires advanced welding skills, attention to detail, and strong commitment to safety Perform MIG, TIG, and aluminum welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other metals used in ISO/Tank Container construction and repair. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure precision and accuracy. Repair leaks, cracks, and other damages to meet industry standards (IMDG, DOT, ITCO) Conduct inspections to ensure weld quality and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the welding workspace. Build and assemble metal structures according to project specifications. Inspect completed work for quality assurance, ensuring all welds meet industry standards. Collaborate with regulatory inspectors and quality control teams to ensure timely project completion and address any welding-related issues while maintaining safety protocols. Document completed work and repairs, maintaining detailed records for regulatory and internal review.

Candidates must:

Pass a background, drug screen and physical Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently Requirements Proven experience as a Welder, particularly with ISO/Tank containers, pressure vessels, or industrial tanks. Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality work consistently. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues that arise during the welding process. Willingness to adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations while on site. High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification or relevant technical training is highly preferred. Proven experience in welding, particularly with ISO/Tank containers, pressure vessels, or industrial tanks.
