Job Description

Overview Kudzu Staffing is seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder-Metal Fabrication Shop Technician for our first shift operations. This role involves performing high-quality welding and fabrication tasks within a manufacturing environment, ensuring that all metal components meet precise specifications and safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and proficiency in various welding techniques. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team committed to manufacturing excellence and safety compliance. Duties Perform MIG and TIG welding operations. Measure materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication. Cut, shape, and assemble aluminum and sheet metal. Fabricate metal components by welding, fitting, grinding, and finishing to meet project specifications. Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of machinery. Collaborate with team members on assembly processes, ensuring quality control throughout the fabrication process. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency. Inspect completed welds for quality assurance using measuring instruments and visual inspection techniques. Support continuous improvement initiatives by following best practices in mechanical fabrication and manufacturing processes. Skills Extensive experience in metal fabrication shop environments with a solid understanding of mechanical fabrication processes. Proficiency in various welding techniques including MIG and TIG welding. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical schematics accurately. Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise measurement tasks. Strong mechanical knowledge related to metal materials, sheet metal fabrication, and manufacturing standards. Knowledge of AWS standards for welding quality assurance. Understanding of safety protocols related to welding operations and machinery use. Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and quality control assessments. Excellent attention to detail combined with strong communication skills to work effectively within a team. This position is essential for maintaining high standards of craftsmanship while ensuring safety compliance across all operations. Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
