Job Description
MUST KNOW HOW TO WELD MANUALLY
- This is not a robot welding position. The ideal applicant for the Welder/Fabricator position will have MIG welding experience; be able to read blueprints (schematics); and have the ability to proficiently measure angles. The Welder will follow customer designed blueprints to tack the product together. The ideal applicant must be able to set the welder to the correct setting. A weld test may be required as part of the interview process. The regular work schedule is Monday - Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. Overtime, including weekends may be mandatory to meet customer demands. Full Time;Non-exempt Summary:
Fitting, joining, and fabricating metal and other welded materials by applying appropriate welding techniques in accordance with product specifications and production schedule.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform welding duties using a wire welder (GMAW).
- Weld metal (aluminum, steel, stainless steel) components as specified by customer's engineered blueprints.
- Turns knobs to select amperage.
- Read blueprints
- Turns lever to adjust jet of gas to blow away molten metal.
- Strikes arc and guides electrode along lines to cut (melt) through metal.
- Grinds off chips, spurs, and slag from cracks and holes.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Communicates with Quality and other management as needed.
- Refer to and follow work instructions.
- Attend production meetings and follow production schedule.
- Other duties may be assigned.
