$[XX-XX] per hour, based on experience About the Company We are a growing mechanical fabrication and welding shop specializing in custom fabrication, equipment repair, structural and mechanical work, and field installation. Our work includes both shop fabrication and on-site projects, so we are looking for dependable people who take pride in quality workmanship and getting the job done safely. We are hiring Shop Fabricators/Welders and Field/"Road" Welders/Fabricators . Experienced welders and fabricators are encouraged to apply, but we are also willing to train motivated individuals who have a strong work ethic and want to build a career in the trade. Job ResponsibilitiesShop Fabricator / Welder Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches and measurements. Layout, cut, fit and fabricate steel and other metals. Perform MIG, flux-core, TIG and/or stick welding as required. Set up and operate fabrication equipment, saws, grinders and other shop equipment. Fit and weld structural and mechanical components. Measure parts and assemblies accurately using tape measures, squares, levels and other measuring tools. Perform grinding, drilling, cutting and finishing operations. Assist with equipment repairs and custom fabrication projects. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow company safety procedures and welding/fabrication specifications. Work as part of a team to complete projects on schedule.
Field / Road
Welder & Fabricator Travel to customer locations and job sites as needed. Perform welding, fabrication, installation and mechanical repairs in the field. Work around heavy equipment and industrial machinery. Read drawings and determine proper measurements and fit-up in the field. Safely use welding machines, grinders, torches, plasma cutters, hand tools and power tools. Assist with rigging, positioning and installation of fabricated components. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and structural components. Communicate with customers, supervisors and other employees on job-site requirements. Follow all required safety procedures while working around equipment, lifting operations and other hazards. Maintain company vehicles, welding equipment and tools used for field work.
QualificationsRequired:
Welding and/or fabrication experience preferred. Ability to read a tape measure and accurately perform measurements. Ability to safely use hand and power tools. Ability to lift, move and position heavy materials with assistance when required. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Ability to work safely and follow instructions. Willingness to work overtime and travel to job sites when required.
Preferred:
Experience with MIG, flux-core or stick welding. Experience fitting structural or mechanical assemblies. Experience reading fabrication drawings or blueprints. Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel or aluminum. Experience with plasma cutting, oxy-fuel cutting or other cutting processes. Mechanical repair or industrial maintenance experience. Previous field-service or mobile welding experience. Welding certifications are a plus.
