Job Summary This position is responsible for welding and assembling structural steel components used in industrial equipment and heavy fabrication projects. The ideal candidate has strong welding skills, can read blueprints, and is committed to producing quality work in a safe environment. Responsibilities Perform structural welding on steel components using MIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored welding processes Weld in multiple positions including flat, vertical, and overhead Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols Perform fit-up, tack welding, and final welding on fabricated parts Prepare materials for welding by grinding, cutting, cleaning, and measuring Inspect welds to ensure quality and compliance with specifications Operate welding and fabrication tools safely and correctly Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all safety rules and PPE requirements Assist with additional shop fabrication tasks as needed Requirements 2+ years of welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment preferred Proficiency in MIG and/or Flux-Cored welding (FCAW) required; Stick welding experience strongly preferred Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment Dependable attendance and strong work ethic Welding certifications (AWS or similar) are a plus but not required Preferred Skills Experience with heavy structural steel, thick plate, or industrial equipment fabrication Experience using grinders, torches, plasma cutters, and saws Basic fabrication and fitting experience Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and paid holidays 401(k) or retirement plan options Overtime opportunities Growth and advancement opportunities
