Job Description

Non-Exempt Direct reports:NoSUMMARY:
Plans, positions, and welds fabricated and cast components on roll over/fall over protective structures, and specialized weldments. Performs work primarily onROPS/FOPS
structure welds completing all required welds except critical joints, including sheet metal welds. Position also utilizes full-penetration welds with a backing material.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produces a product to customer quality standards in a safe and efficient manner.
- Receives and reviews instructions, prints, and work order for the job.
- Lays out, positions, bolts, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure into position within fixture for welding.
- Sets up and makes adjustments to equipment and parts per blueprints.
- Performs welding responsibilities on product outlined in Blueprints; OPI's, Quality Manual, or any additional performance guidelines.
- Grinds excess weld, sharp corners, or sharp protrusions using a portable pneumatic grinder.
- Makes periodic quality checks as required and inspects finished product for completeness.
- Other duties as assigned
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Required to obtain weld certification to
AWS/ANSI
standards.- Basic knowledge of welding procedures,
- Capability to read and interpret blueprints, work order instructions; weld symbols, and operate required tools involved in position.
- Good problem-solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality.
- Ability to convert standard units of measure to metric and metric to standard in addition to basic math skills.
- Able to consistently maintain production averages at or above the expected standards.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Successful completion of Crenlo Engineered Cabs weld training program requirements
- Crenlo basic safety training
- 1 to 2 years welding experience
Note:
If a Weld 2 classified welder has not completed Weld 2 job duties within 6 months, welder must complete Weld 2 re-certification prior to performing Weld 2 job responsibilities.WORKING CONDITIONS/OTHER
