Job Title:
MIG Welder - Stainless Steel Fabrication Job Description This role focuses on performing MIG welding on stainless steel rails and wheelchair lift components in a high-volume production environment. You will read and interpret blueprints, measure and prepare materials, and produce high-quality welds that meet safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on stainless steel rails and wheelchair lift components in a production setting. Interpret and follow blueprints and drawings to complete welding and fabrication tasks accurately. Use a tape measure and other basic measuring tools to prepare and verify materials before welding. Set up, operate, and maintain MIG welding equipment in accordance with safety and quality guidelines. Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as needed. Assist with general fabrication tasks as needed to support production requirements. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in a heavy industrial environment. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines. Essential Skills Previous welding experience in a production or industrial environment. Proficiency in MIG welding on stainless steel components. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings. Ability to use a tape measure and basic hand tools accurately. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds. Ability to work safely and effectively in a hot, heavy industrial setting. Reliability to work the scheduled shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with flux core welding is a plus. Experience with stainless steel welding and stainless steel fabrication is highly beneficial. Willingness to learn and adapt to production processes and quality standards. Interest in continuing education or skills development, supported by tuition reimbursement opportunities. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a hot, heavy industrial environment where temperatures can reach up to approximately 108 degrees. The facility provides water stations and a slushie machine in the break room to help employees stay cool and hydrated throughout the day. The role follows a day shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, in a hands-on, production-focused setting that involves working around industrial equipment and materials. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
