Job Title:

Welder Job Description This role focuses on performing high-quality TIG (GTAW) welding on stainless steel rails and related components in a heavy industrial environment. The welder reads and interprets blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions, sets up and adjusts welding equipment, and ensures all welds meet strict quality and production standards while maintaining a safe and organized work area. Responsibilities Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on stainless steel rails and related components with consistent quality and precision. Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and detailed work instructions to complete welding tasks correctly. Set up, operate, and adjust welding equipment as needed to meet job specifications and production requirements. Inspect completed welds to verify quality, accuracy, and structural integrity, making corrections when necessary. Follow established safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area. Meet daily and weekly production schedules while maintaining high quality standards. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve issues and ensure efficient workflow. Handle materials and fabricated parts safely in a heavy industrial environment. Essential Skills Hands-on welding experience, including previous TIG (GTAW) welding work. Proficiency in TIG welding on stainless steel materials. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions accurately. Strong fabrication skills and understanding of welding processes and techniques. Ability to set up and adjust welding equipment to meet job requirements. Attention to detail when inspecting welds for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity. Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work area. Reliability in meeting production schedules and quality expectations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with stainless steel welding in a heavy industrial environment. Comfort working in higher-temperature conditions with appropriate safety measures in place. Ability to work a consistent day shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Strong work ethic and ability to stay focused and productive throughout the shift. Willingness to learn and improve welding and fabrication skills over time. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
