• Follow oral or written instructions from supervisors.
• Use the following equipment: Mig, Tig, arc welder, and oxy oxygen and acetylene.
• Produce acceptable welds in all positions following the company's WPS.
• Select proper procedure, fillers, and equipment for various types of welding.
• Check shop tickets, heat numbers, and rough castings to verify that the correct parts are being welded.
• The job often involves working in awkward positions and lifting heavy materials following company standards.
• Check finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints.
• Notify the supervisor of known or suspected problems with equipment, drawings, or parts.
• Log all parts welded in ledger.
• Operate machines as required.
• Exercise care in the use of company equipment and tools.
• Grinding and de-burring.
• Observe all safety programs and safety practices.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Perform other duties and necessary.
• Must be able to communicate and trouble shoot most mechanical problems with all welding equipment.
• Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process and read a tape measure and square.
• Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness.
• Must be able to understand welding symbols and carry out duties above with no supervisor.

• Complete all required EHS training courses.
• Follow environmental procedures related to waste disposal, spill response, and material handling.
• Properly segregate and label waste (hazardous, recyclable, general).
• Report environmental incidents (spills, leaks, unusual emissions) immediately.
• Use materials efficiently to minimize waste.
• Participate in environmental training and toolbox talks.
• Shut down equipment properly to reduce energy and water use.
