Responsibilities Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of materials and components in accordance with company and industry standards. Accurately and efficiently fabricate piping spools, brackets, supports, and other components according to engineered drawings and specifications. Fabricate custom components based on on-the-fly designs, measurements, and shop requirements when formal drawings are not available. Read and accurately interpret engineered drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, welding procedures, and specifications. Measure, cut, fit, tack, and weld components while maintaining proper dimensions, alignment, and tolerances. Perform fit-up and layout of piping, structural components, brackets, and related assemblies. Select appropriate welding techniques, equipment, and materials based on job requirements. Inspect completed welds and fabricated components for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications. Identify and correct welding or fabrication issues as necessary. Properly operate and maintain welding machines, grinders, cutting equipment, measuring tools, and other fabrication equipment. Maintain an organized and safe work area. Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and quality standards. Work closely with mechanics, supervisors, and other Truck Shop team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule. Perform additional welding, fabrication, and shop-related duties as assigned. Skills High school diploma or GED required. Welding certificate or completion of an accredited welding program. Previous professional experience performing MIG and TIG welding in a manufacturing, fabrication, industrial, or heavy-equipment environment. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and welding procedures. Experience fabricating piping spools, brackets, supports, and custom components. Strong knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and proper weld preparation. Ability to work independently from drawings and instructions while also collaborating effectively as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. •Must have own tools and safety boots
