Job Description

Pipe Fitter / Pipe Welder Job Summary We are looking for a dependable and experienced Pipe Fitter / Pipe Welder to join our fabrication shop team. This position focuses primarily on shop fabrication and MIG welding of pipe systems, structural components, and custom assemblies. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced fabrication environment, reading shop drawings, fitting pipe accurately, and producing quality welds that meet company standards. Key Responsibilities Fit, fabricate, and assemble pipe spools and related components in a shop environment Perform MIG welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and fabricated pipe assemblies Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols Measure, cut, bevel, and prepare pipe for welding and fabrication Tack weld and align components to specifications Operate fabrication equipment including grinders, saws, cutting torches, and welding machines Inspect completed welds and fabricated assemblies for quality and accuracy Maintain clean welds and consistent production standards Follow all shop safety procedures and PPE requirements Assist with material handling and shop organization as needed Qualifications Previous experience in pipe fitting and MIG welding required Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and fabrication drawings Experience using MIG welding equipment in a fabrication shop setting Knowledge of pipe fabrication processes and fitting techniques Ability to safely operate shop tools and equipment Strong work ethic and attention to detail Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods Welding certifications are a plus but not required Preferred Skills Experience fitting and welding carbon steel pipe Ability to fabricate from prints with minimal supervision Familiarity with shop fabrication workflow and production schedules Basic knowledge of weld inspection and quality control Work Environment Indoor fabrication shop environment Exposure to welding fumes, grinding dust, heat, and shop noise Full-time position with possible overtime depending on workload Benefits (Optional) Competitive hourly pay Overtime opportunities Health insurance Paid time off Opportunities for advancement within the shop
Pay:
$25.00 - $32.00 per hour
