• Supports dragline relocations and outages through welding, repair, and component assembly at customer job sites nationwide. This position requires travel, with crews typically working 60+ hours per week during outages. Primary Duties
• Welds and repairs dragline components including booms, masts, frames, tubs, shoes, propels, and buckets
• Uses MIG, TIG, flux-cored, and stick welding processes safely and effectively
• Reads blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions to complete accurate repairs and assembly
• Performs routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on dragline equipment
• Uses grinders, torches, and plasma cutting tools to prepare and finish metal work
• Works closely with technicians, engineers, and supervisors to complete outage and relocation work safely Core Work Activities
• Handling and moving materials, parts, and equipment
• Operating welding, cutting, grinding, and gouging equipment
• Inspecting welds, equipment, and materials for quality and safety
• Reading work orders and blueprints to determine specifications and methods
• Recording operational data and maintaining production information
• Traveling to and working extended hours at job sites during outages and relocations Physical & Environmental Requirements
• Requires close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision with the ability to adjust focus
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, heights, fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor conditions
• Works in wet, humid, hot, and cold environments and performs physically demanding tasks
• Able to work extended shifts (60+ hours/week) during outages and travel to job sites for extended periods Skills & Capabilities
• Heavy equipment welding and structural repair
• Blueprint reading and weld symbol interpretation
• Safe use of welding, cutting, and metal preparation tools
• Inspection, troubleshooting, and quality control Minimum Qualifications
• Must pass a weld test including bend tests for 3G and 4G flux-cored and stick welding procedures
• Must pass physical screening including respirator fit test, pulmonary function test, chest X-ray, and drug screen
• Must have a complete, weatherproof toolbox with required tools
• Must be willing to travel and maintain current MSHA training Compensation & Travel Benefits
