Viva Corporate office, Lewisville, TX The Shop Welder is responsible for production welding, fit-up, and basic fabrication of railing systems and infill panels in a shop environment. This role works from shop drawings to assemble components accurately, maintain steady production output, and ensure finished products meet quality standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Read and interpret shop drawings, work orders, and written instructions Perform production welding and fit-up on railing components and infill panels Assemble parts using measuring tools, squares, and levels to ensure proper alignment Cut and prepare metal materials using hand tools and shop equipment (saws, grinders, etc.) Perform basic fabrication tasks including drilling, tapping, bending, and modifying pre-fabricated components Weld components to specification with attention to fit, finish, and structural integrity Grind, clean, and finish welds to meet quality standards Handle a mix of repeat production work and custom fabrication Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Work with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of welding tools, equipment, and shop machinery Ability to read shop drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols Strong attention to detail, especially with fit-up and finish work Basic math skills related to measurements and layout Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Comfortable working in a production-driven environment Ability to weld in flat and horizontal positions (vertical a plus) Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED preferred 1+ year of welding experience in a shop or fabrication environment TIG welding experience preferred Experience working with metal fabrication tools and equipment Welding certifications are a plus but not required
