Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and assembling metal structures and components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will help ensure the quality, safety, and durability of our projects, contributing to a variety of construction and manufacturing initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse materials and advanced welding techniques in a fast-paced environment that values craftsmanship and safety. Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately guide welding and assembly processes. Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Measure and mark metal materials using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise cuts and welds. Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other metal materials utilizing plasma cutters, power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment. Fabricate metal components by welding, grinding, fitting, and assembling parts according to specifications. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols during all fabrication activities to prevent accidents or injuries on construction sites or in the shop. Collaborate with team members on construction site projects or within fabrication shops to meet project deadlines and quality standards. Use crane operations when necessary for lifting heavy materials safely during fabrication or installation processes. Inspect finished welds using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to verify compliance with quality standards. Skills Extensive experience working on construction sites with knowledge of site safety procedures. Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Strong ability to read mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and interpret fabrication shop drawings accurately. Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and shop math for precise measurements. Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes, machining operations, plasma cutting, assembly, and metal materials. Familiarity with construction equipment like cranes for lifting heavy components safely. Experience working with sheet metal fabrication projects in a shop or field environment. Ability to operate power tools safely while maintaining high-quality craftsmanship standards. Knowledge of AWS welding standards combined with a commitment to safety protocol adherence at all times.
